It allows me at workplace to clearly instruct the public, accurately reports incidents as well as efficiently coordinates with other security personnel. In addition, Good physical fitness of mine aids me to perform the role of security guard proficiently it assist me to respond rapidly to the incidents, manage the crowd, conduct a long patrols on the daily basis (Seo et al, 2021). One of my weak are is related to decision-making skill. It is a capability of a person to make a rational and informed decision (McCrie, and Lee, 2021). While working at my previous workplace I identified that my decision-making skill is not much effective as a result sometimes make me unable to evaluate situation rapidly and take decision by choosing most appropriate course of action for effectively maintain safety and security. Due to the lack, I feel little distrust and it leads to adversely impact my ability to perform job.
Also, in digital time, technology plays important role in threat prevention and surveillance. But according to my working experience I find little inconvenience while using technological system for the purpose of securing. I feel difficulty in using technology while monitoring through cameras, evaluate control system to protect the assigned area (Grimm et al, 2020). The lack of skill makes me unable to use two-ways radios, mobile apps for purpose of communication and so more. Thus, it becomes important for me to develop my technical skill to perform my role as well as improve the effectiveness of security operations.
Lack of conflict resolution skill makes me incompetent to handle challenging situation at the workplace. While working at workplace, I find difficulty in manage conflicts between two customers in relation to difference in opinion. As a result due to lack of skill, the tension become intense that is not good for the reputation of the organization as well as for the point of view of customers. For effectively perform role of the chief security officer I have to enhance the skill so that able to remain calm and composed to effectively manage workplace conflicts and ensuring safe environment for everyone involved i.e. customer, employees and general public.
