Introduction: System Design And Analysis Of The Phoenix Theatre Group

The “Phoenix Theatre Group” is a group of organizations and companies where that maintain and manage all the theatre groups across the UK region. The total number of theaters they owned for their business is around seventy-five theaters and all the theaters are over a hundred years old the theater capacity is huge and many seats are provided in all the theaters where the seats are around five hundred to two thousand in capacity and it is available all over the country. The total number of customer attendance and their reach to all the theaters that belong to the “Phoenix Theater Group” is about two million and this is huge compared to other theater industries. The main head office is situated in London where around hundreds of staff or employees are working permanently. For this business, there is a process organization workflow where the whole process of the organization work process is described and how it is managed through the process. The data flow process of the movie theater is the best way to understand the whole workflow process between the customer ticket booking and the admin management where the process of booking is organized and managed. The “Data Flow Diagram” describes how the organization's working process flows in a flowchart where it specifies the work process that demonstrates how the organization operates in a certain way or method. The process encompasses all of the data, including inputs, outputs, and storage locations for the data or information. It also includes several subdivision processes through which the data or information moves. This process follows the system design model in that the theater workflow process works in the SDLC model. “System Development Life Cycle” is the full of the SDLC paradigm. The whole life cycle of the system's evolution is depicted in this model.

Discussion

Q1. Analyzing the business market environment in the state of the current market

A group theater is managed by the organization of the Phonex theater group in the UK. 75 theatres are owned by this phoenix theatre across the whole country. This company was working for 100 years. This theatre has goodwill and a market experience (Gómez-Ochoa et al, 2021). This group has a capacity from the range of 500 to 2000 seats. This is a sufficient seat capacity for any normal theatre. The overall annual attendance of the theatre is 2 million or more. This attendance is a large number but The theatre has the old system and this has to be upgraded by the higher authority of the system and for this, it is needed to know the market environment. The head office of the theatre is based in London so the market it grabs is a huge range but the theatre group should consider the market environment to follow. Analyzing a business market is most important for any business because it makes the idea of the target customer. This is the policy where a business gets all the information that makes the growth of the business. This analysis also provides knowledge on how to process the business properly. With the technology, the database of booking details should be maintained in the separator database and the payment statement of the customers are separated.

SDLC model for the new development

The full form of the SDLC model is the “ System Development Life Cycle”. This model shows the full life cycle of the development of the whole system. There are 7 stages in this model.

  • Planning Stage

This stage shows the planning of the upcoming project. So that the project will go properly. This planning stage can give the scope of the existing system and also shows the advantages and disadvantages of the system in this project the planning stage is to develop the theatre system (Wang et al, 2018). The development of the outline which is effective is determine the upcoming development of the new system which will make instate of the old one. It can also detect the upcoming problem so that it can’t affect and save the system.

  • Analyzing stage

This stage analyses all the systems and gathers all the specific requirements and it is determined for the new system to make the development of the theatre this stage provides the proper information to avoid the problem of the development.

  • Make a prototype to know the requirements
  • Makes the changes in the prototype to know the effects of the changes.
  • Make the proper research which will solve the issues from the customer so that the development will be reached.

If more development is needed then the software will be needed for this development so that the customer can also know why the requirement should not get reached dor the customer end. This stage makes all implementation which was made in the plan for the consumers.

  • Design Stage

This stage is necessary for the developing stage (Aceto et al, 2020). The developers who will improve the theatre system will first determine the developing section and set the procedure and then design the specification which will need for the development of the phoenix theatre. This stage has some steps for the design.

  • The user interfaces for ticket booking.
  • System development for the theatre
  • A system that will provide the comfort of the consumers
  • Databases of ticket booking and also the database of payments structures

They will create the document of all the development and set up the proper system. The operation, Training for the upgraded system, and also the maintenance of the system (Bartoszko et al, 2020). At this stage, the developer of the project can draw the process into a cycle so that they can easily implement the procedure of the upgradation.

  • Development Stage

With this stage, the determining design is implemented in the work, and make the system is upgraded with this stage, it is shown clearly whether the development was planned and designed is properly working or not.

  • Testing Stage

This stage is for testing the whole changes of the system and making sure that the implementation of the development should be secure and had no issues during this, if any issues will create then it is solved without bothering the consumer so that the consumer can’t make any complaint and the development would make proper.

  • Implementation And Integration Stage

After the testing stage if any issues will creat then this is the solving stage where the new implementation stage and the proper finishing will make for the consumers and give the ultimate upgraded system so that they can get a great experience.

  • Maintenance Stage

After the users of the theatre get the whole upgraded system and during their usage, the theatre needs proper maintenance so that the experience of the user is kept the same and the system will perform properly this is the ultimate stage and this gives the theatre as best.

Q2. Requirements analysis to identify functional and non-functional requirements and any constraints/regulatory or compliance factors for the proposed system.

Requirements for the business purpose is a high-level statement of the objective, goals, and needs. Any specific features and details are not required for the business requirements. It just shows the problems which will make during the business. This also includes the reach of the customer, increased revenue, reduced expenses, and improved customer service.

User requirements are the most important part of the system. For the user, it is specified that the requirements should be specified in this section the requirement is mentioned is followed by the development sectors so that they can plan the proper development system (Okedo-Alex et al, 2019). This requirement makes the project improved and upgraded.

Solution Requirement, this requirement describes the characteristics which are specified and the theatre has to meet the needs required, and in this section, the stakeholder of the company should have mansion all requirements. In this theatre, all the staff like HR, IT support management department, and also the workers are working for many years. So these all staff know how to handle the theatre but because of the change in the world, they have to decide by analyzing the environment of the market so that they can make the theatre more efficient and make more money. With the growth of the market environment technology was grabbing the market easily so for the theatre it is necessary to make the technology more advance so that the company can work with the flow of the market. In the market, the maximum thing will be online like ticket booking or detailed information about the theatre so the theatre also makes available the feature for the customer to make them comfortable (Patil et al, 2019). This technology makes more people know about the theatre and also the people who will want to go to the theatre can easily book tickets for the theatre with a call or online portal. The ticket booking process is also made from the box office. After analyzing the current market strategy and environment the theatre should make a process where the main telephone will be handled by one sector so that it doesn’t make confusion.

Functional requirements

This requirement must specify the requirement which will make the system more upgraded and give more features for the project. A functional requirement is a feature or a function that will implement the upgradation which will be planned and designed by the development department (Chang et al, 2020). In this section, the requirements will be how to improve the whole system which is more required such as the database which is needed for the different databases like booking details of the customer, and payment details and this database will be separated and have the proper information and also it will be secure so that any other unwanted were not able to operate this. This requires and is also followed by the stakeholders so that they can give suggestions and it makes development more important. For booking the tickets the customer has to fill up the section where the information is needed for the booking and then the payment section also where the bank details will be provided (Ivanov et al, 2020). Another section for upgradation is the telephone section for booking this is also maintained by the section of booking management. The booking is also made by the box office. For the theatre, the functional requirement is also the capacity management this also made by the development sector. For the theatre, an upgrade is also needed in the lighting and the sound section the new system is required for this section to upgrade the sound and the lights. The app that will be made for the promotion of the theater is also a functional requirement. With this app, the customer could make sure that their tickets will be booked and can see the available seats, and with this app, they can also see the timing of the show. Another upgradation of the theatre will be the management who will have an important role in this theatre and also have to be trained for the new upgradation so that they can handle the section easily (Joyce et al, 2018). The functional requirement is a necessary part of the company. This section will also be followed by the owners and the stakeholders.

Nonfunctional requirements

This requirement is the generalized properties of the system which are known as the quality control of the system for this section the requirements will be such as how to perform the feature and how the system of the theatre performs this is also maintained by the management. This requirement also has the performance management of the theatre which will be monitored by the company head and it also monitored by the owner or the other upper graded person such as the general manager or others their concern are all the departments will be maintained and work properly. Advertising is also a part of the system (Ballantine et al, 2021). To promote the theatre advertising is an important part so this has to follow properly. This section needs proper maintenance regularly. Because it is an integral part of the system in the theatre. In this section supervision of the process is also important because of the process is also needed because if any time the whole system will fail then it can cause any type of accident. For this section, the backup system will be needed and this is the ultimate system during any failure of the theatre system. The security system of the theatre will also be strong for any problems if create. The manager, HR, and other departments should maintain the discipline made by the company official, and also they should follow the rules and regulations of the company with this the company will have secured from any problems (Hölbl et al, 2018). Non-functional requirements should specify user satisfaction which is needed by the theatre authority and this affects the theatre to earn more money. Sometimes the feedback of the customer should follow by the theatre because it can make the theatre more efficient. Maintenance of the app which will make it for booking the ticket and giving the show schedule will be handled by the theatre authority so that they can access the details of the theatre also the details are provided by the customer and can make the details safe and secure because it can have the sensitive details.

Data Flow Diagram for Movie Theater

The process of data flow diagram states the process of the flow of the organization's working process in a flowchart mentioned where it defines the work process that how the organization work in a particular manner or process. The process includes all the data where all the inputs, and outputs of the data, and where the data or the information is stored it also includes different kinds of subdivision processes where the data or the information flows. “Data flow chat” is constructed using the standardized flow of symbols and proper and easy notation to refer to and explain different kinds of entities or attributes and all their important relationships with other processes. The “Data Flow Diagram” is the visual representation of a particular model or a technological system that is hard to elaborate and explain in some number of words and it also includes various kind of system information and data which is very difficult to describe in some sentences or words that is why it needs to explain this kind of methods and system flow data in a simple flow chart and flow diagram to explain the necessary information or the data that is required to work in the organization or any company. The data flow chart describes the main process of workflow where the relations and the workflow between the admin and the customer and their details and info. It demonstrates the data flow by implementing various kinds of pointer arrows and rectangular box charts to demonstrate the overall process of the work of any organization (Armstrong et al, 2020). These data flow chart is used to build the system structure or a simple map of an organization process which is used to build a new technology or new process of work or is used to give the plan to manage the organization by implementing or integrating the discussed process or the plan. This “Data Flow diagram” helps to visualize or give the ability to show each kind of element to detect and identify the efficiencies, inefficiencies, drawbacks, limitations, or any kinds of error to have an idea of the system to produce a better and well-equipped system or work process. There are a total number three levels of “Data Flow Diagram (DFD)” that explains the full process of the “theater ticket booking system” which is divided into three levels that are level 0, level 1, and level 2 where the process of data flow is explained in a different step.

Figure 1: Data Flow Diagram (DFD) Level 0

The first step is the “Data Flow Diagram (DFD) Level 0” where the booking of theater tickets is processed. The booking system of theater tickets is the main and most important process where the flow of data is regulated and started according to its process because it is the main starting process of the data flow of a theater (Agbo et al, 2019). And the process is in the concept of a single-factor process display visualization and this way it has demonstrated (Mackey et al, 2021). The boundary and the relation between a system and its surroundings or the environment are indicated by “DFD Level 0”, which also lists the entities and data that interact and intersect with a process or a system. An elevated view of the online movie reservation system is also shown in this diagram. The structural illustration which is shown in this “Data Flow Diagram” of level 0 is the main key process which is demonstrated in a single block of a node to elaborate and describe the project process in a single look. In this data flow, the user gives the data or the information into the process of the system and after giving the data then the user gets the output that was received by the processing system. By looking at the data or information flow process diagram user can easily notice that the data flow is already present in the process. Here it is mentioned that the customer is going through a process of ticket booking where the customer is giving the information and data where mentioned customer details, booking info, and details for the confirmation to the booking system of the tickets, and then the information or the data that the customer provides to the system is then transferred to the admin who is managing all the ticket bookings.

Figure 2: Data Flow Diagram (DFD) Level 1

The second step of the process of data flow is “Data Flow Diagram (DFD) Level 1” where the full process is described in detail form. The main key feature of this diagram is that it elaborates the full process of the first step in a more descriptive way. It penetrates through the whole concept of the DFD process and gives a deep and elaborate explanation of the DFD at level 0. Level 1 of the data flow system show and give the details of the movie theater's overall outline process where the data and the information transfer which was provided by the customer are then transferred to the admin management system and the data of the booking of the ticket is processing is divided into four part that is much more clear then the level 0 and more descriptive in terms of data processing. As mentioned above the level 1 diagram visualizes four different system processes within the whole process. There are four booking system processes: the first step is the customer info management process, the second process is the management of the ticket booking records, the third process is the monitoring processes of the booking status, and the last fourth process is the management of the transaction process. This whole process is the descriptive and elaboration of the whole “ticket booking system”. At first the data and the information flow of the customers to the booking system where the details of the records of the tickets booking status and all the same details transfer to the process where the booking transaction system occurs. Then these two processes of booking record process and the transaction process give the ticket booking records and the transaction details of the customers to the admin management. Then the admin gives the customer confirmation of the booking information and the booking status of the customers. The whole process of the ticket booking system and the information or the data transmission from the customer to the admin management and vice versa is the process of the “Data Flow Diagram (DFD)” of Level 1.

Figure 3: Data Flow Diagram (DFD) Level 2

The third process or last process of data flow chat is the “Data Flow Diagram (DFD)” which is Level 2 where the explanation and elaboration are more than Level 0 and Level 1 data flow process. This is the highest and fully elaborate explanation of the data flow system diagram and where it is provided all the data and information and the full system model description are given at this level. In this process, it is provided the division of the ticket booking process system where all the entities were described. The first and most crucial procedure for regulating and initiating the data flow of a theatre is the system for buying tickets, which is where the data flow is initiated and managed. In this way, the process has been illustrated, and it is in the notion of a single-factor process display visualization.

Recommendation

Make a recommendation for an implementation strategy that should include details on any testing and instruction that may be necessary. Determine the best way to convey these to the stakeholders, keeping in mind that the experience, expertise, and relevance of the stakeholders may call for the use of various channels of communication and methods.

A project can be successful when it achieves the objectives and meets the expectations of the stakeholders. But do we know who the stakeholders are? They are the individuals who care or have a hopeful interest in the project. Who is actively involved in the working project and has an interest in profit or loss in the project. Generally, project sponsors are the executive from various organizations with the help of the legal authority to assign them the legal resources and enforce the decisions about the ongoing project.

Sometimes, we can also see that the consumer, and suppliers, not only that sometimes it has been seen by the government also. Rather than that project is in charge and the various members of the project are also involved in it. A project team is made up of dedicated people involved in the project or borrowed on a time basis. Working together and closely with support and cooperation helps develop the project. During the project planning team members should also be involved in it. Carefully listen to the team members' points of view and ideas. Communicate with each of the project members frequently. Peer supports is always essential or compulsory. Always keep the relationship in a good manner if the relationship is bad it will be seen in various types of problems in the project. Get to know about the client's description, culture, and business.

In various environments, the project manager may work through it. Many times it has been seen stakeholders have more interest try to resolve them as soon as possible. Stakeholders' culture depends upon various factors mainly communications, negotiations, and decision makings. Conduct different participation in different roles and levels and locate how much interest among the stakeholder. Don't always report to stakeholders. Asked them for their views or input by scheduling a get-together, lunch, etc. Regular communication with them. First, you should know who your stakeholder is. Second, what are their intention and power regarding the project? Either they support or oppose you. What is the relationship among the stakeholders? Do they support you or oppose you? They could be the influencer who has the power to get an impact on your project. Do they have the power to impact your project? What are strategies you should follow on them? A special key to managing the stakeholder is constant communication with them.

Conclusion

All the theatre groups in the UK region are maintained and managed by a consortium of businesses known as the "Phoenix Theatre Group." Around 75 theatres were owned by them in total for their company, and each one of them was built more than a century ago. There are a lot of seats available in every theatre, with a capacity of between five hundred and two thousand people, and they are spread out over the entire nation. The way the theatrical workflow process operates in the SDLC model is a system design model that this process adheres to. The full title of the SDLC paradigm is "System Development Life Cycle." This model shows the full course of the system's development.
