Introduction - Comparing Techniques for Enhancing Language Learning with Multimedia

In this essay, there is a comparison of two articles that emphasize on the use of new techniques and multimedia for the students which is highly expanding these days. The second article demonstrates the incorporation of technology within classroom that shows the importance of technology in learning. This essay provide description and differences between two articles.  The title of Article 1 is student perception on language learning in technological environment: implications for the new Millennium/Author- Jonita Stepp-Greany/Date-January 2002. The title of Article 2 is classroom exercises with technology and communication skills: student’s perception/ Author- Marie Elaine Gioiosa/Date-4 May 2018

Main Body

The author of Article 1 describes the positive impact of technology on students in terms of a foreign language context that encourages students to self-learn and develop based on higher studies (Stepp-Greany, 2002). However, the author of Article 2 more emphasises the benefits of the changes for students and provides knowledge about using technology for students. It has been observed that there is a different perception of both the articles as article 1 shows some positive elements for using technology in the classroom, but in the case of article 2, there is a requirement for proper learning activities so that students can make proper use of technology. The evaluation includes that article 1 provides a description of the technology used for changes in the development of different language skills, whereas Article 2 focuses on the communication skills that are important for the accountant part of the study, and it evaluates the impact of communication skills on the growth of communication within the students. The aims of both articles are similar, but the literature shows the different perceptions of students towards the use of technology in the process of learning that is beneficial for their future growth.

In the first article, data has been collected through the questionnaire method for the students' perceptions regarding technology along with the instruction of language for the enrolled students. In contrast to this, the data collection method in article 2 is similar to that in article 1, which is a questionnaire method for determining the impact of communication on the growth of skills. The discussion and result of article 1 state that students believe in the use of activities in labs, which are beneficial for students, and they are more agreed with the improvement. To sum it up, despite the reality that most or all of the educators disclosed improvements in their cAuritical reading expertise as well as historical awareness, any of the technical solutions have always been considered great for their own educational valuation. Whereas the findings of article 2 state that students' perceptions of classroom learning are positive, and the majority of students agreed on the survey questionnaire. However, the response of students provides an idea about the use of new skillsets for them, which mainly supports the notion of improving technology. Both of the articles have different perceptions towards the use of technology and create a varied impact on the students.

Article 1 includes a quantitative method which helps to engage some measurements with the survey of students, which helps to understand the perception of students, including the concern of teachers and facilitation, the perception of accessing labs and computers, and the impact on learning that is based on the data collection. In contrast to this, there is the use of a quantitative method in Article 2, which demonstrates the perception of students with an opinion that is translated into the numerical data. The study includes seven research questions where the five responses were mainly available as strongly agreed, disagreed, strongly agreed and undecided. However, the data collection technique helps to understand the technique for enhancement in the research activities. The data collection technique for both Article 1 and Article 2 is the same, that is, the quantities method, which provides a numerical aspect for collecting and comparing within the opinion of students, which is an important part of both studies. The exercise, which is incorporated in both of the articles regarding the process of data collection, has a positive effect on the students, which is clearly shown in their responses to the procedure of the survey. Thus, quantitative study helps to collect appropriate data from the range of students and identify the best outcomes.

The comparison of references list shows that in Article 1 there is the use of the APA style of referencing that gives clarity for the research article. However, in comparison with Article 2, there is a use of Harvard style referencing that helps to acknowledge the idea of work. The total number of references in Article 1 is 32, whereas there are 23 references in Article 2. This shows that both of the articles needed many references to complete the research. In Article 1, most of the references are journals, which are used for the content of the literature review and help to indetify the different purposes of the study. It gives ideas about using various journal articles for completing the research, like the use of Coverdale-Jones for the perception of students towards learning languages, or the use of technology for powerful contributions towards communication. In Article 2, there is the use of both journal articles as well as online references, with given links to the websites for getting information. The use of different journal articles in the content of research methodologies as well as literature reviews plays a significant role in the development of research (Gioiosa, and Kinkel. 2019).

Conclusion

To summarize, the essay mainly contributes towards the comparison of both the articles and provides knowledge about the different perceptions of students towards the use of technology. It gives idea about the use of different methods of data collection technique along with the use of survey methods for the study. The articles have similar topics, but the aims of the articles are different, which makes a differentiation between the two. It provides knowledge regarding the use of references for taking different information from various resources. The essay mainly concentrates on the learning of students by using new technologies.
