Being able to learn and impart that learning through teaching is an important area that needs to be looked at because it is through this that there can be a proper understanding that can be achieved of how dual professionalism plays a role in the life of an individual. This report will aim to show how dual professionalism has played a role in my life by applying its concepts to my specialist area of marketing. The report will also cover how various external business environment factors are affecting the performance and development of professionalism. This is a necessary concept to be looked at because it seems that proper conception can be realized about how I am supposed to act and grow in my career. There is also an analysis of policies that are present in education so that it can be evaluated on what the impacts are that they can cause. There will also be an underlining of various stakeholders that play a role in providing these policies. Mostly all of the report will be focused on the education aspect as it helps to outline what can be the different areas for further development to occur.
Professionalism is a key area that needs to be looked at by anyone who is teaching or mentoring as they are the ones that are passing on information that they have learned. This is being done simultaneously hence there needs to be a proper understanding of how its effect of education and training is being done.
Firstly looking at how professionalism is important for education as it helps to show that integrity is present for the job role at hand. Hence, this helps to show that the teachers have a clear outline to represent their job responsibilities which allows them to showcase their confidence levels. According to authors Menter and Flores, (2021), it seems that professionalism in education is not a single factor that is being focused upon but instead, it seems that other factors are involved such as personal growth traits and skills regarding the profession as well as developing collaborative working techniques. The value of collaboration is important to be looked at because providing education is not a one-person job hence taking ideas from colleagues would allow there to be a better outline of how to manage all of the work that is being done. Another value that is perceived from professionalism in teaching is to understand one’s strengths and weaknesses (Fenwick, 2016). Through this one can understand their abilities that are present and the ones that have a gap hence showing what can be the training areas that should be required for further development to take place.
Authors Dodillet et al., (2019) have mentioned in their research that education seems to be socially oriented which leads to the fact that effective education can be only provided when there are quality teachers present. For this such to occur there had to be a clear identification of professional values to be present in a teacher so that they can impart knowledge effectively. Such helps to show that professionalism in any job is important as it allows there to be proper work to be established.
Now focusing on the concept of dual professionalism, this has also become a necessary concept to be looked at because it seems that the business environment is looking at individuals who are focusing on growth for further achievements to be made. Teachers and trainers that are present need not only to know the subject that they are teaching but also knowledge about the current occupation and industry they are in. Authors Esmond and Wood, (2017) have proposed another factor that can be looked at here which is that there needs to be further clarification on the new technology that is present in the industry. Through this, there could be adequate knowledge on the new technology that can be looked at hence outlining how such technology can be used in the training or teaching process. The value that is presented here is that there needs to be further achievement of knowledge that needs to be attended to. Through this, there can be a better analysis of how to manage the new technologies that are present in the market (Atkins and Tummons, 2017). Through this the opportunities that are present in the sector through technology can be tapped into hence there can be adequate information that can be provided.
My specialty area is marketing and it seems that both the concepts and factors that are present in professionalism as well as dual-professionalism allow there to better behaviour and performance understanding to be achieved by me. Several ethics would need to be followed which both involve teaching and getting work done in the marketing operations. One of the areas that should be understood is that marketing is being upgraded to digital marketing which involves the use of several technologies. There are different software’ that are present in the market hence understanding which one is the best one for the current operations that are occurring. There need to be skills that have to be developed and further imparted amongst other employees so that there can be better increment in performance in the market. A key area in marketing that should be looked at is that the concept of safety and privacy should be taken into account. This is necessary to be looked at because it seems that there is a huge amount of privacy that should be looked at outlining how the work can be done effectively (Black et al., 2021). The rise of social media platforms are key digital marketing strategy but the issue of privacy is still present hence there would have to be proper knowledge to be gained on how such functioning is being done hence creating effective work to be looked at.
One of the areas that both professionalism and dual-professionalism fall under is that of having developed ethics. Looking at this role in education plays an important role because it works both ways meaning that there are ethics that one must follow during teaching and also while gaining knowledge. There are even policies that are present in UAE regarding this which will be discussed in the report.
My own professional rules are not that much different from the ones that have been defined in the before section. One of the professional values that I seem to be keenly focused upon is that of having a strong work ethic. This is a major area that needs to be looked at in the field of marketing because there is a large number of customer information that is being handled such as customer behaviour hence creating a better outline of how the employees are to be targeted. A strong work ethic would help me to see what are the different areas that I can focus on for further growth to occur and how further work can be done. This would influence my work behavior to be less focused on seeing what shortcuts are present for further growth to be looked at. It does seem that due to this, I would be able to have a clear idea of how to provide a new idea on what can be the different areas for the quality of work to be done (Wasserman, 2017). It is through such behavior that there can be a clear advantage achieved in behaving by the organizational culture that is present in an organization.
Looking at the concept of dual-professionalism it seems that I would need to improve and focus on what are the new technologies and skills that are being showcased in the industry. The digital marketing industry is on the growth hence it has become necessary to develop such skills to create a better understanding of what can be the different areas for development that can occur. Digital marketing would mean that new professional values are also being created that need to be focused upon. This is not only a single factor that is being looked at here because once I learn such skills I would be entitled to pass them on to other individuals that I am working with who do not have them. This is because to climb higher in the corporate ladder it is important to act as a leader so that I can be noticed for my work as well as leading a team to greater success. Also, by acting as an influential figure I would be able to pave a path in my career to becoming a manager.
Many policies are present in UAE regarding education such as ensuring quality education or good governance of educational performance but the one that will be focused upon here is the policy statement being ‘Professional Code of Conduct’. This policy has been chosen as it helps to provide information on how the behavior of teachers should be in their professional practices. The policy has represented six core values that should be followed by all of the teachers in the education sector:
Many changes have occurred in the business environment which have caused there to be disruptions to be made in such policies hence analysis needs to be done and see how factors such as social, economic, and even political have affected the policy. The UAE factors are going to be looked at because this is the place where I want to have my job.
Education in UAE is taken seriously because it seems that primary education has become mandatory for both boys and girls. There is also the factor that both primary and secondary education in the country is free of cost hence allowing all of the children to have education. It helps to increase the literacy rate in the country. However, authors Ashour and Fatima, (2016) have shown a different side to the education state in the country because they have negatively represented such a factor. In the research carried out by them it has been shown that the quality of the graduates is still low. The authors also show that there is a misalignment in the strategic education goals due to which the quality of education being imparted does not seem to be setting a high standard.
On the other hand in research that has been provided by authors Eltanahy and David, (2018) it has been identified that teachers in the UAE are focusing on making sure that engaging lectures are being provided by the use of innovative teaching strategies. This can be linked back to the policy of professional code of conduct as it helps to meet both standard 7 (use of resources) and standard 9 (local culture). It is through standard 7 that the use of innovative technology is being used in the teaching methods. Artificial intelligence has become the most used technology in teaching as it not only helps to provide relevant information but also it helps to set-up strategies that can be used for better quality of education to be provided.
UAE has presented its Vision which is a plan that involves to have intense number of changes in the curriculum. The plan is known to be ‘First-Rate Education’ hence creating a chance for better quality of education to be provided in the country. The importance on education in highly present in the UAE as in the year 2016, 21% of the national budget was devoted to the education sector alone. Furthermore, the value of STEM (Science, Technology, engineering and math) is highly valued in the country due to which ICT investment in the education sector was around $15 billion (Education Business, 2020). It is through this that there can be adequate education that can be imparted by the teachers.
Though there might be such measures that have been taken in the economy author O'Sullivan, (2016) has presented a different take on all of this. The author has shown that the labor market that is present in the country is high but the level of education that is present in such a market is on the low side. There is a missing link that is present between the education that is being provided and the labor market that is present in the market. This shows that the education that is being provided does not seem to be supporting the skills that are needed in the business environment for further success to be achieved.
The government that is present of the country is highly supportive of the education sector as it makes sure that there are some supporting policies and strategies that can be provided to the teachers. The government has established a People of Determination that helps to make sure that differently-abled individuals are not discriminated against and are provided with a high level of education. The Protocol to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has been signed with the UN so that such an area can be focused upon (UAE-Embassy, 2021).
Authors Matsumoto, (2019) have shown that the UAE education system needs more input from international education to increase the quality of the education. The UAE government has allowed there to be USA aspects to be added to the curriculum. However, it seems that the communication between the government and the education sector seems to be low. It is mentioned in the policy that there should be effective communication but this is not present in this case.
Application of all of the above areas in my specialist area marketing mostly plays in the favor as it seems that focus on technology is being done. This is because the rise of technology in marketing is highly prominent hence there needs to be skills that need to be developed accordingly. There is also a clear point that has been mentioned in the conduct policy which is that there needs to be the implementation of the country's culture in the education. This is important so that there could be proper customer behavior that can be understood for better customer awareness to be done. The social aspect can also be assessed here as it helps to provide a clear identification of how there will be an outline of there can be further development that can take place to make sure that there will be better knowledge that can be provided.
However, one of the issues that seems to be present in marketing is that there is not too much communication that is present in the market. This may lead to less amount of information that can be gained be gained for marketing to occur then there will not be a proper outline of the customer behaviour for work to be done.
Several stakeholders are present in the education sector and the most common ones seem to be the internal ones administrators, staff members, school board members, students, and teachers. There are also collective entities that are present in the market which are local businesses, media outlets, or even specific academic disciplines that are present in the market. Such entities are a part of the external stakeholders and the interest may vary from stakeholder because it seems that there might be financial interest present or further quality of assurance to be provided.
The role of the internal stakeholders is to make sure that there is effective knowledge that is being imparted through the development of an effective curriculum. There are the development of plans that are made for the week, month, and even the year so that quality of education can be provided. This is to be done to ensure that students would not only be able to progress in the next year but also help them to learn about how the world works. The collective entities provide education with the facilities and resources that are needed to get an effective job done (Cheng et al., 2021). The Abu Dhabi Education Council has come up with various policies such as the professional code of conduct that is used by teachers so that proper behavior is being represented.
Accountability is a key area that should be focused upon by the stakeholders because it shows how the performance of all the stakeholders will be assessed. The impact of this is that if external stakeholders such as the government devise policies then it becomes it necessary for teachers to follow and implement them. It is through this that there can be a better understanding of what are the roles and responsibilities that are to be looked at.
Another aspect that can be looked at here is that student’s behavior needs to be properly devised. A new code of conduct has been developed by the government of Dubai which it not allow teachers to resort to corporal punishment such as physical or psychological abuse instead other areas of punishment such as detention would be looked at (KDHA, 2011). This shows that accountability in making sure that the education that is being provided is highly effective in the market. From such it can be seen that the accountability factor plays a major role in the market hence causing further development to be done.
Working in a partnership has become important because it seems that it is due to this that there has been further understanding achieved of how collaborative working can occur. While working in a partnership it seems that there should be effective communication that needs to be present. All of the stakeholders that are present need to work collaboratively so that there can be quality education provided. The new technologies that are being used by the students would help to create a clear understanding on what can be the different actions that need to be taken so that there will be a better outline of how to manage the education that is being provided (Penuel et al., 2020). The only key technology that can help to improve education would help to provide an outline on seeing whether the performance of the students can increase or not.
Several rules and regulations are presented by the government and they need to be followed by the educational institutes that are present. It is through this that there can be a proper understanding of the behavior that is to be portrayed by the teachers. Through such rules and regulations, teachers would know how to function while teaching (Saguin, 2019). Teamwork and transparency are some of the factors that need to be considered by teachers because the plans that are made need to be further circulated for feedback or acceptance to be made.
If all of the stakeholders are working as partnerships there will be a collaborative manner that there can be quality knowledge that can be provided. This is a necessary aspect that can be looked at because it seems that it is due to this that there will be a clear understanding of how to develop effective plans so that knowledge can be provided.
The curriculum is affected as there can be new areas that can be added by the stakeholders to develop effective measures. It seems that several further areas can be looked at as the government of UAE has now focused more on diversity and managing the generation gap that is present. This is a necessary area to be looked at because it is through this that there can be a proper application of what is needed to be inducted into the curriculum so that individuals who are entering into the business environment can be confident further (Alhosani, 2022). It helps to also to realise what are the opportunities in the market hence creating a better outline of what can be the different areas for further focus to be assessed.
Parents are also a key stakeholder to be looked at as it is through them that further analysis on seeing what they want. Parents are worried about whether their children are ready for the world and can have an effective work path to be looked at. However, it seemed that their questions have to be properly taken into account so that the educational institutes can provide effective work to be done.
The code of practice is a necessary policy that needs to be looked at because it seems that it is through such that there can be a proper outline of what can be the different areas that can be looked at for further development to be made. The code of conduct is designed in such a way that teachers can properly assess how the behavior of the teachers and students alike can be managed. Accountability, integrity, and compassion are important to be developed in the behavior of teachers so that they can create a plan that can help to increase the quality of education that is to be offered to the customers. ADEC has presented 12 standards in the policy of code of conduct that can be used to see what the important factors that can be achieved are (Policy statement, 2021). These standards are:

It is through this that there can be proper collaboration that can occur between all of the stakeholders that are involved. The tolerance for diversity helps to show that the future is being looked at because due to globalization there are a large number of international students who will be partaking in the education that is being given by the country.

The valley of commitment and transparency is highly placed in the strategic plan as it helps to show what the different factors are that can come into play while making sure that there is a proper outline for work to be developed. Again, the value is being focused on STEM because it seems that such is a research that can help for further research to be attained.
It is necessary to understand the needs and requirements of customers so that it can be used to what type of marketing is to be done. If there is a better understanding that can be achieved of what is wanted by the customers then it would be easier to design a marketing campaign accordingly. The other requirement that is to be focused upon in marketing is the type of platform that will be targeted. This is a necessary area to be looked at because it seems that some different rules and regulations need to be followed when writing a blog post online while posting advertisements on various social media platforms (Felix et al., 2017). This is because the induction of digital marketing has allowed there to be more skills and technology to be added to the area hence it has become important to study them. Several mirror websites are present in the market and also a large amount of hackers are present in the market. I do have the skills to tell apart from a mirror website from the real one but it seems that several different areas need to be looked at on what could be the area that need further assessment to be done. I do have SEO marketing skills and it seems that through this there will be better work that can be established.
On the other hand if quality is to be attained in the education sector it seems that the use of the quality lifecycle is to be used.

It seems that the education needs have to be analyzed and then such concerns need to be portrayed to the government so that they can provide funding and resources so that such can be managed.
One of the key areas for improvement that needs to be looked at is that there should be more communication and collaboration that should be done between the external stakeholders as well as the internal stakeholder it is only by this that there can be a proper assessment of what are the needs that are present in the education department as well as providing a clear outline on how they can be addressed. It is through such that there will be better creation of how technology can play a vital role in providing key areas for management to occur (Wu et al., 2017). It is through technology that the STEM area in the education sector can increase hence providing advanced facilities to be used.
Another area that should be looked at is that there is to be planning that is to take place so that clear objectives can be identified in the organization. Each year such objectives are to be looked at and seen whether they have been achieved or not. The concept of quality assurance falls into such a change that is being implemented.
