2.4 Reflect on practice using a reflective model to determine development needs
Gibb’s reflective model which involves six stages such as; description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion, and action plan used to present reflection. In my organisation, I participated in many individual and group projects. As training leader, I often prepared the development plan for the other faculty members and students. I always divided my work before starting any training program and also communicated the overall plan to the team members (Dutta, He and Tsang, 2023). I assigned the roles and responsibilities in an appropriate manner that helped me to reduce the confusion in future about role. At starting of the program, I always think about the outcome which created stress. Although, I remained throughout the project which is my strengths. I also took guidance from my other professionals so that I can deliver best training to the people. Further, the things which well went in training were that participants provide their full supports to training programs and I also motivated them to complete the assigned tasks and activities in proper manner. However, during the project, I also faced the conflict situation because people had different perspectives and sometimes they disagree with the decisions. I used critical-thinking skills to solve the problems and communication ability to interact confidently with all people. I also used digital tools to make training more interesting and attractive for the learners. I identified that I should focus more on using digital tools and software to provide better training. In addition, I also realised that I need to develop time management skill as if I had this skill then I could have handled the situation better and complete work on time. Continuous improvement: Training leader is crucial profession and continuous improvement is necessary in this field. By giving priority to the continuous improvement, a leader become capable enough to know about the latest industry trends, knowledge and skills (Day et al, 2021). Seek feedback: I will use critical friend model to effective gather the feedback. Through utilising the model, I will become receive feedback from my peers and co-workers in systaltic manner.
3.2 Review the effectiveness of newly acquired knowledge and skills on practice
From skill development plan, I achieved the time management skills and digital skills. Both skills are highly useful in own practice and help to achieve the personal goals and organisational objectives.
Time management skills helps a training leader to enhance the quality as well as quantity of the work they perform. It allows a person to divide the daily tasks and work and execute tasks one by one according to time table. It helps a leader to achieve more in less through streamlining workflows and reduce the interruptions (Abich IV et al, 2021). Leader who is excellent in managing time can better give responsibilities, perform tasks and meet deadlines, eventually helps in achieve better outcomes while giving training. Time management not only helps in work but also facilitates in reducing stress and managing work-life balance that ultimately helps in improving performance and productivity.
The second skill which was acquired by development plan is digital literacy. In today’s world, digital literacy has become essential for everyone. People are using the digital technologies to do their job and it increase the efficiency of the people. Digital literacy is equally effective for training leaders. Through digital literacy, training leaders can design and develop the outstanding training programmes for the others. With the help of the communication tools, a leader communicate with the team member in better and convey the information immediately. It improves the online coordination, allowing team members to work with each other more efficiently (Gilli, Lettner and Guettel, 2024). Digital knowledge allows a training leader to understand and evaluate the information and data that help to make informed decisions and make excellent strategies. Leader who have digital literacy is able to develop a culture of innovation through encouraging the team members to think new ideas and use different digital tools to carry out own work.
3.3 Technologies and resources to keep updated on own knowledge, skills, practice
Technologies and resources are highly useful for training leader in terms of keeping their own knowledge, skills, practice and understanding updated. A training leader utilises the online e-learning platform to and online webinars to develop the new knowledge and skills. There are plenty of online platform that offer wide range of online courses on different topics. It allows a training leader to choose the relevant course and improve their knowledge and practices. Online platforms also allow the leader to gain education from their home at any time and learn at their own pace. Through using relevant software and tools, leader can prepare more effective training programmes and deliver training in an attractive way (Haleem et al, 2022). Further, training leader utilises different resources like academic journals and online articles to stay updated with latest research in educational field. This information can be used by the leader to make changes in own practices and benefit both people and educational organisation. Moreover, leader has an opportunity to connect with industry leaders and other training experts through online community channel and forums. It allows an individual to interact with the other professionals, share their knowledge and work together, eventually help in keeping practice and understandings up to date. Newsletters and blogs relevant to educational industry offer leader with timely update on new developments, news and trends.
3.4 Share knowledge, skills and improvements to practice with colleagues
Sharing skills, knowledge, competences and improvements to practice with co-workers is vital for growth and development of the organisation, staff members and students. This approach promotes a culture of continuous professional development, innovation and partnership. Knowledge can be shared with each other through mentorship programmes and online platforms where professionals meet each other to explain about own skills and listen other people actively (Anderson, 2025). Group discussions is also a good way where staff members can discuss about any topic and understand the different perspectives about particular topic. When staff members work with each other share their knowledge and skills, they can take benefit of shared expertise in order to handle issues and challenges in more effective way and find out excellent solutions to the problems. Knowledge sharing contributes in improving engagement of working people in their job and motivates them to use different and unique ways to carry out the activities and tasks. Moreover, knowledge sharing approach allows for informal mentorship that reduce the requirement of the costly training programmes as it enables professionals learn from experiences of each other. Basically, when knowledge is shared cooperatively and openly, it improves the problem-solving ability through tapping into shared intelligence which further contributes in professional development. .
