With the help of effective communication skill, the leader can build the strong relationship with the healthcare professionals from which they feel encourage and motivate to provide high-quality of services to the patients (BARR and DOWDING, 2015). However, in some cases effective and strong communication skill of OM increase chances of arising their conflicts with the healthcare professionals which leads to negative impact on the overall management and services to the patients.
In addition, it can be vital for the leader and operational manager to have the competency of effective leadership because it aids in coordinating the overall systems in order to ensure whether all activities are aligned or not. M2: Benefits of applying leadership theories
To direct and motivate the healthcare providers the leader of healthcare organizations are implementing wide range of leadership theories such as Fiedler’s contingency , McGregor’s theory X and theory Y, Hersey and Blanchard on situational leadership and John Adair’s Action-centred leadership. In the healthcare setting, application of diverse leadership theories are connected with the high level of participation, clear goals and objectives of teams and commitment to the quality of care and support for the innovation. Implementation of leadership theories are beneficial for the healthcare organizations because it helps in shaping the process of decision-making that exist in the workplace (Moradi et al, 2020). Adoption of these leadership theories can be beneficial for the leader of Beverley Care Home because it helps in developing their relationships with the healthcare providers. On the other hand, in many cases Maslow hei8rarcy theory is not considering the external factors which dirtectly impacts the motivation and encouragement of healthcare providers and patients.
By implementing above-mentioned theories, leaders can promote inclusivity in the workplace by inviting healthcare providers to express their opinions and listening carefully in order to make potential and informed decisions. By executing leadership the leaders of chosen healthcare organization increase the satisfaction of the patients. By implementing leadership theories, the leaders of Beverley Care Home can provide effective direction and supervision to the healthcare providers from which they are motivate to provide high-quality and better services to the patients. For example, adoption of John Adair’s action-centred theory can be valuable for the OM or leader in the chosen healthcare organization because it aids in streamline the process of leadership and management which eventually positively influence on overall efficiency and success.
Apart from this, the OM of Beverley Care Home also implements McGregor’s theory X and theory Y theory to manage the operational management in healthcare settings (Wong, 2020). Adoption of this theory can be beneficial because it helps in motivating the healthcare providers which leads to lower the rates of adverse health outcomes. The leaders who implement these theories are competent to support and retain staff which can indirectly influence the mortality rates in the patients (De Brún and McAuliffe, 2020). Adoption of theory X and Y is beneficial in the healthcare because it helps in increase job satisfaction, meeting needs of patients and reduce turnover which eventually positively influence on the overall operation. However, in some cases these leadership theories are not competent to meet the requirements of healthcare providers which lead to high staff turnover, employee dissatisfaction and low productivity.
Aside from this, these leadership theories plays an immersive role in enhancing healthcare because it allows acceptance of diversity within the healthcare providers. The leaders of healthcare organizations are providing mutual support then it facilitates care and support within the environment (Leach et al, 2021). Additionally, healthcare providers from several backgrounds and feel a sense of recognition then the leaders accept and understand their differences.
D2: Effectiveness of own plan to improve area of provision
I reflected effectiveness of my own plan related to position of leader in the healthcare setting by using Gibb’s reflection model.
As a leader in healthcare organization, I implemented wide range of theories and models related to leadership in order to provide proper guidance and directions to the healthcare providers. To manage the overall operation and motivate the healthcare providers, being a leader of Beverley Care Home I implemented various theories such as Fiedler’s contingency, McGregor’s Theory X and Theory Y, Hersey and Blanchard on situational leadership, John Adair’s Action-centred leadership. With the help of effective leadership theories, I was competent to assign roles and responsibilities to the healthcare providers in effective manner from which they provide effective care to the patients. Adoption of these theories are beneficial for me because it helps in managing the team in effective way from which they are competent to provide better services to the patients.
Apart from this, to manage and develop my team members in the healthcare organization I also implemented various models related to it. For the effective development and management of healthcare providers, being an leader or OM I implemented various motivational and staged theories such as Bass and Ryterband Four Stage Team Relationship Development Model (1979), Woodcock’s Model of Group Development (1979), Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, McClelland (1961) etc. As a leader I have effective personal skills from which I was able to provide the direction and guidance to my healthcare providers in effective way. My personal skills encompasses motivation, critical-thinking, flexibility and dependability, problem-solving, and interpersonal skill. With the help of problem solving, I was able to solve the conflicts and issues of my healthcare providers from which they feel motivate and encourage to provide the services to the patients. By implementing these theories, I will competent to provide proper directions and guidance to the healthcare providers from which they are provide effective treatment and better services to the patients to enhance their health and well-being.

M3: Analyse theories that inform development and management of teams
Developing and managing the team in the healthcare is important because it positively influence on the safety of the patients. Beverley Care Home can need to emphasis on developing and managing the team in effective manner because it helps in providing better services to the patients which leads improve their health and well-being. The significance of teams in healthcare increase due to increasing specialization and complexity of care, boosting chronic diseases, safe working hours initiatives etc. To develop and manage the team members in the healthcare the leaders or operation managers can implement wide range of motivational and staged theories (Tortorella, van Dun and de Almeida, 2020).
To develop and manage the team in healthcare setting the leaders can need to emphasis on implementing Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. This motivational theory helps in increasing the motivation and morale of healthcare providers by meeting their various needs such as self-actualization, esteem, love and belonging, physiological and safety. If the leader of Beverley Care Home can meet all these requirement of the team members who are associated then they feel motivate and encourage to provide better services to the patients. This theory helps in boosting the success and increase efficiency of healthcare organization by motivating and influencing the employees towards desired goals and objectives (Coles et al, 2020).
Apart from this, to manage and develop the team members, the operational manager or leader of chosen organization can need to focus on implementing staged theory i.e. Tuckman’s four stages of team life (1965). This staged theory illustrates the path that is followed by the team members for their high and better performance. According to this theory, the healthcare providers are developed by forming, performing, norming, storming and adjourning. Forming is considered as one of the significant phase of this theory on which the team members are come together to provide services. In addition, storming is another stage of this theory where there are high chances of arising the competition and conflict between team members. At norming stage, team members are begin to address their differences and appreciate inputs of their colleagues. Apart from this, at performing stage, the team members begin to work together without conflicts or friction (Zamboni et al, 2020). Adjourning is the final stage which helps in determining the purpose of team. Adoption of both theories can be beneficial for OM of Beverley Care Home because it helps in managing and developing the teams for providing better services to the patients through increasing their motivation and morale. To achieve the better outcomes of the patient, as a leader I implement Tuckman theory from which they feel encourage and motivate to give better services to the patients. With the help of this theory, I will determine the needs of team members and fullfill it to increase their motivation. I will also implement Belbin theory from which I managed balanced teams, enhance communication and better decision-making.
M4: Analyse the potential impact of plan on service provision
From the above it has been analysed that, the plan has significant influence on the service provision and results for the people in healthcare practices. In the context of service provision, making the plan can be beneficial for the staff in healthcare organization because it helps providing the better and high-quality services to the patients in order to increase their satisfaction and improve experience. Additionally, the plan also aids in enhancing the performance of healthcare providers as well as increase their motivation which eventually positively influences on the patient’s services. On the other hand, the plan also impacted negatively on the service provision on the staff because it leads to poorly managed staff, reduced service users and demotivated staff which eventually negatively influenced on the service provision (Ocloo et al, 2021). The plans which are made by the leaders helps in enabling a better understanding the roles and responsibilities of the healthcare providers. The plan will be beneficial for patients of Beverley Care Home because it helps in overcoming the issues such as rise in staff sickness, lack of leadership competencies and management effectiveness as well as morale of staff.
