INTRODUCTION
Career viewpoint refers to an action of attaining skill, knowledge and experience about the higher position as well as take more responsibilities. The aim of the report is to focus on future career planning by identifying one of profession or industry with the help of primary and secondary research. To complete the present assignment, I have selected marketing as a profession. Moreover, in the current times it is one of the demanding profession in each industry. In this report, I will evaluate general trends that impact my marketing profession and highlight skills and knowledge for the same.
ANALYSIS AND APPLICATION
General trends that impacts profession
Currently, marketing is recognized as one of the significant profession from the perspective of making the best career for the graduate employment. Marketing is also considered as one of the demanding job as it required by the every company or industry including retail, fashion, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality etc. The main job in the marketing profession is to promote business, brand, product and service at the local, national and international level to grab the more customer attention.
In the modernization era, there are several future trends that lead to impacts the marketing profession.
Technological advancement: According to Elhajjar (2024), one of the main trends that currently prevail in the marketing area is technological advancement. It leads to introduction of several new technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation, chatbots, AR & VR and so more. Further, it also places significant impact the marketing profession in a positive as well as negative manner. The trend had made marketing as more convenient option or profession because it facilitates automation of the repetitive task such as email campaigns, customer segmentation and thereby ensures accuracy of the campaign. This in turns make marketing as a more attractive profession. However, the trend also results in losing of marketing jobs for graduate due to its feature of automation.
Personalized marketing: In the marketing profession, there is a significant shift from the generic marketing options to the personalized one. As compared to the generic marketing, personalized advertising focus on communicating directly to the customer and focuses on evaluating the unique needs and preferences of the target market.
Video creation: Referring to the views of Madan and Rosca (2022), video creation is a powerful trend within the digital marketing media. Presently in marketing profession, to promote the brands focus is placed on making and updating short videos.
Digital marketing: Within marketing field, trend of digital marketing emerges to the significant level. Presently, all companies prefers to promote their product and services by using the digital platforms such as social media, web-based advertising, multimedia message and so more (Marketing Trend,. 2025).
The rapid taking changes within the marketing profession significantly impact the skills and knowledge required for the applied job. Based on the secondary research, due to the trend of technological advancement within the marketing, there is a demand for technical skill within the marketing field increase. In this context, I need technical skills to perform the job in an efficient manner. Also, the trend of personalized marketing leads to impact the job requirement criteria in significant manner. The trend leads to increase the requirement for effective communication as well as critical thinking skill. For personalized marketing, effective communication is important to efficiently convey the message in an appropriate manner to the target customers. In addition, the critical thinking aids in making the marketing campaign unique and fascinated for the target audience.
Required skills, knowledge and experience
For the efficient performance in the marketing field, there is a requirement of several skill, knowledge as well as experience required. Based on the primary research, it has been identified that for performing the role in marketing, considering the current trends, technical skill is the prime requirement. Technical skill refers to the ability of the individual to use different software and technologies to effectively perform in their role (Kovács and Zarándné, 2022). It is crucial for the marketer to have knowledge of using diverse software and technology like AI, automation, data analysis to identify the current market trend, customer behavior etc. It allows the marker to prepare a marketing campaign accordingly to convey the intended message and grab the attention of customer. In addition to this, for the proficient performance in the marketing role and to deal with personalized marketing trend, communication skill is a significant requirement. This presents an ability of convey the message in a clear, concise and understandable manner to the target audience. Concerned skill is important for the marketer to interact with their audience, team members and stakeholders (Varadarajan et al, 2022). Effective communication skill facilitates prominent personalized marketing, where the content created and communicated according to need and preference of the customers. Furthermore, primary research outcome reveals that critical thinking skill is also a vital requirement for the marketing role. This allows the marketer to make smart decisions based on facts and logical arguments, leading to better marketing performance as it is helpful in gaining the customer attention and promotes brand in a significant manner.
From the primary research, it has been identified that creativity skill is crucial to come up with exciting and new ideas that allows in capture attention of customers. The skill enable in generate and implement marketing message in creative way, assist in brand recognition and awareness (Ameen et al, 2022). Also, skill helpful in perform according to current marketing trend such as personalized marketing and video creation. Moreover, for applying for marketing profession, data analysis skill is crucial to study and evaluate performance of marketing activities. It allows the marketer to understand what kind of content drive customer actions and helps in building marketing campaign accordingly. Thus, having all skills make the individual fit for the marketing profession.
Apart from this, from analysis of primary research, it is concluded that for the marketing profession, individual should have knowledge of using AI technology as well as application of search engine optimization and marketing. The knowledge of use of AI technology allows marketer to effectively research about audience preference, trend analysis and forecasting, social media management and creation of marketing content according to trend. Along with this, good knowledge of SEO enables the marketer to effectively enhance the brand`s visibility via search as well as drive more traffic to website.

Appropriate vacancy from profession
In the marketing profession, I have found an appropriate vacancy for the role of digital marketing manager. The role includes creating awareness via marketing, communicate with the target audience, building customer relationship, drafting plan, campaigns and so more. The role is quite important in the marketing profession as it helps in creating brand awareness, drives sales with the existing customer, and ensures wider customer reach and better customer engagement. I am interested for the job role of digital marketing because my skill matches the requirement mentioned in the description. In addition to this, the job role creates growth opportunities as well as allows me to use my innovative and creative ideas to engage and make compelling content for their targeted audiences. In addition, assessed job role will aid in enhancing my skills and knowledge more as well as provide opportunities to give my best for promoting the brand effectively. The job role of digital marketing manager is effectively aligned with the personal career skill. The rationale behind this, I possess all the required skill for the job role including technical skill, communication, creativity, critical thinking and so more. This allows me to perform the role in the best possible manner. However, referring to SWOT analysis I evaluated that I need to focus on improving my technical skill as I have lack of knowledge about using different technologies and software. It is one of the prime skills for role of digital marketing profession correspondingly I need to improve it by taking online course to gain my knowledge and ability within the field. The area of improvement act as a barrier for me to grab the opportunity in proficient manner.
In marketing profession, there are several job role available such as marketing execute, content creator, marketing manager and so more. However, I have selected the digital marketing manager role as it is a bright and promising career option. Currently, this field represents tremendous growth as it is one of the current trends in the marketing (Fachrurazi et al, 2022). The job role will allow me to use my skills and knowledge effectively as well as acquired more by working and getting experience in this. Therefore, I have given priority to the role of digital marketing as compared to the other one. Besides this, the main reason of selection of the job opportunity is its excessive demand in the market due to shift from traditional marketing to digital marketing in recent years. Apart from this, my skill of creativity enables me to perform role proficiently and good growth in terms of professional level and financial level is also one of reason for the selection of opportunity. The role allows me to be versatile in several niches like SEO, email marketing, web designing, e-commerce, social media and so more. Moreover, the marketing industry is constantly evolving, digital marketing is one of the demanding field in the marketing profession. Hence, it is one of the future-proof careers that provide stability as well as growth in the long-term.

In the marketing field, the general trends includes technological advancement, personalized marketing, digital marketing and so more that leads to impact the overall marketing effectiveness. The trends results in changing requirements for skill and knowledge required for job. From primary and secondary research it is analyzed that communication, technical skill, creativity, critical-thinking and data analysis are some of required skill for the profession. In present time, digital marketing due to its high demand is considered as future-proofed career.
