Introduction - Exploring Social Theories Impact on Society's Growth
This study has been focused to explore and critically discuss the role of social science in terms of understanding human lives and lives across society. It has been observed that social science deals with the immediate experiences of human beings beyond the world. Thus, a rigid and explicit understanding of society's functioning approach can be gained with social science. Therefore, it can be stated that social science concerning the livelihood of society has been comprised of economic, sociology, anthropology and psychological aspects. Thus, society has been derived from distinct attitudes of human beings based on situational approaches.
In contrast to the scenario, it can be stated that society has been formed based on culture and environment. Therefore, this study has been concretely exploring race and ethnicity concerning social science in terms of contrasting benefits and disadvantages across societies of the globe. The influence of social theories on those two aspects will be analysed in this study.
The approach to learning and understanding society and the sociological imagination
- Race: It has been observed that the human species have been segmented based on behavioural and physical attributes. During the 20th century, the core concept of race has been studied through a genetic approach and portrayed biogenic distinct races across the globe. However, many scholars have argued that despite genetic distraction, race is driven by the intervention of culture. In contrast to the scenario, it can be stated that race can be defied with many prospects and physical condition is one of the modern meanings of race. Thus, according to the modern meaning of race, a community of people belonging to the same skin and hair colour falls under a category of race (Siregar, 2022). Therefore, across the societies of Africa and Europe, a vast difference in race based on physical attributes can be noticed.
- Ethnicity: The societies of different regions of the globe have been comprised of different perspectives, distinctions and practices concerning culture. The communities or groups of people have been differing with those factors in terms of livelihood based on social science. Due to the influence of those factors, ancestry, religion, language and history of each group have been segregated from other groups. Thus, it can be stated that the difference between ethnicity is learned not heritage (Brown, 2011). Therefore, it can be stated that the USA has multiple groups or communities of people who live together due to a lack of ethnic equality. Thus, ethnicity has strived concerning pluralism.
Understanding the significance of investigation techniques, vocabulary and disciplinary language in the field of social science
According to the theory of "Emile Durkheim", it can be realized the evolving approaches of traditional and modern societies. Thus, an explicit idea of society and the functioning approach of societies can be gained in contrast to mechanical, functionalism, division of work and organic solidarity.
In contrast to functionalism, the functional disruption of societies has been adjusted by readjusting the entire process. Therefore, a form of society has emerged with education and legislation prospects of any society (Riswan et al. 2022). Thus, works of the society have formed the nature of the interrelated function.
The division of labour pursuits has been reflected in the shifting of any particular society into any other society. Thus, much more homogenous people can be noticed across traditional societies concerning ethnicity and race (Macionis and Plummer, 2005). However, modern society has been driven by much rigid complexity concerning the division of labour pursuits.
In contrast to organic and mechanical solidarity, two different structural aspects can be noticed. Due to mechanical solidarity, the self-sufficient structure can be observed and in organic solidarity satisfaction of an extensive population with respect to small structures can be noticed.
On the other hand, the social theory of "Max Weber" has delivered a direct observational and empathic understanding of nature with respect to society. Thus, people's pursuits in terms of expression and body language have been recognised with respect to the direct observational approach (Punch et al. 2013). Besides that, the motive of any person with respect to the behaviour of people can be understood with an empathic understanding approach.
- Socio-economic development: Social science is a mandatory parameter for a society to understand people's lifestyles and maintain relationships with people in a community. The behaviour parameter of humans can be understood better through this subjective knowledge. Humanity can be developed with the help of social science. Social science includes three main parameters such as physiology, economics and political science and each parameter contributes mainly to maintaining the sociological part of people in society. Economics is one of the key factors in social science as this address key issues and solutions about business productivity and profitability concept to develop the socio-economic condition of people. This productivity and profitability depend on the utilisation of resources and continuation of problem-solving and decision-making activities to carry cost-effectiveness in business and social activities. Economic development can be illustrated through a list of activities.
- Development of smart cities: According to Alizadeh (2021), economic development can be an effective parameter that delivers urban dimension development. This development considers the contribution of government in maintaining financial stability and policies set up an activity in this development process. Government invests time to develop housing, culture and employment activity in society to equally develop the socio-economic condition. Socioeconomic development considers the link between inequity and inequality in development activity. This inequality and inequity can occur due to the presence of various variables such as education, ability, skills and position of people in society. However, the opportunity needs to maintain equality for people to develop a community. Socioeconomic development depends on the development of the city and technology and this development can consider strategic movement in the transformation of people's lifestyles and wide sources of financial development can occur through the transformation and modification of technology of society.
- The consumption chain: The consumption chains include economic laws to maintain relationships and social development in society. The organisation follows these laws to develop customer experience, product development and development of opportunities in capturing large sales and position of the organisation in the global market. This chain countermeasures two different aspects such as conformity in the natural development of economic laws and consider the positive functions of these laws into activity to continue with an effective transparent process. Another factor is solving issues of negative factors with the contribution of national power and this can contribute to developing the superstructure of the country, gross production, gross economic development and development of relationships in the society (Wu, 2011). Therefore, the country and business sectors need to continue with the macro consumption chain to develop business activity and relationships with the business market in society.
- Green strategies to develop economically: According to Thomas et al. (2019), considers four vulnerability themes such as accessing resources, variety of presence in accessing, the impact of government on vulnerability to climate change, cultural impact in shaping vulnerability and examination of the multidimensional nature of climate risks. The government play a crucial role to maintain climate risk and this develops requirements for sustainable development in the country. United Nations (UN) includes a total of 17 UN SDGs to maintain sustainability and reduce climate change in the world. This development provides a long-term advantage in business and organisations and countries both can get economic development through this developing process. Neoclassical economics is a theory that considers supply and demand as effective focuses that develop productivity, pricing and utilisation and consumption of goods and services (Girardi, 2021). Therefore, social science requires the utilisation of knowledge and application of knowledge in learning and professional process to carry effective socio-economic development in society.
Conclusion
Socio-economic development can be continued through developing education, lifestyle, economy and strategies in daily activity and people need to change their mindset and focus on learning social science to understand the meaning of social culture and the needs of socio-economic development in society. This includes government contribution to maintaining and continuing sustainable development in society. In addition, this essay wants to deliver future scope for further development of this research.
