In the health and social care sector, there are several job roles such as healthcare assistant, healthcare provider, nursing, healthcare professional, and so on. On the NHS website, one of the jobs is nursing. The role includes furnishing care services to patients via managing physical requirements, preventing illness, and treating health conditions. In addition, the role includes observing and monitoring the vital signs of patients and recording them for better decision-making in terms of care and treatment plans.

To met the person specification for the job position of nursing I focus on taking appropriate action. To become qualified for the nursing role, I took admission in an appropriate university to get a degree in nursing and registered myself with the Nursing and Midway Council. In addition, I take training in different institution to get experience for the role in effective manner. In addition, for the role I identified that communication skills quite important, so to meet the person specification I focus on enhance my verbal and non-verbal communication more by taking classes to learn communicate with patients. Also, time management is one of important requirement as the role is quite busy in nature (Wolters and Brady, 2021, p. 1319-1351). To meet this skill, I emphasize on enhancing it more by watching online classes to schedule my plan or manage time effectively.

SWOT Evaluation
SWOT analysis helps in identifying one's own strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (Puyt, Lie and Wilderom, 2023, p. 102304 ). Following is the SWOT analysis:
Strengths
- Communication skill: One of my strengths is effective communication. The skill aids me to perform best for the role of nursing. Good command on English allows me to communicate my thoughts and opinion in written and verbal form effectively. The strength enables me to communicate with patient, co-worker and professional, allows to build a trust and rapport with patient as a result assist in get better patient outcome (Huaman et al, 2023, p. 21501319231151380).
- Good experience as a home-maker: Another important strength is my work experience as a homemaker. Being in the role, my focus on clean and safe environment, preparing records and so more. The experience act as a strength for me while performing nursing role as it helps me to maintain a safe and secure environment for patient, records and prepare report considering their vital signs.
- Other skills: Teamwork, empathy, decision-making, risk management, patient education, etc. are some of my main strengths. It aids me to work with full potential in a nursing role. It allows me to provide person-centered care to patients.
Weakness
- Leadership skills: One of my weaknesses is a lack of leadership skills. I find myself lacking the competence to lead a team with confidence.
- Critical-thinking skill: It is the ability to listen, interpret, evaluate and make a judgment (Anggraeni et al, 2023, p. 101334). It is one of my weaknesses as sometimes I find it difficult to think a critically to differentiate between right and wrong.
Opportunities
- Develop professionally: I have the opportunity to develop myself professionally by taking appropriate action or preparing a personal development plan to sharpen my strengths and improve my weaknesses. The opportunity helps me to prepare myself efficiently for the nursing role. In addition, my experience of home-maker allows me to develop in professional manner. In regards to professional development, I have opportunity to get training from registered institution, enables me to become sharpen in my nursing role.
- To make career in nursing: Building my career in nursing field is another opportunity for me. To grab the opportunity, I can use my previous experience, qualification of health and social care as well as diverse skill like communication, empathy, time-management, attention-to-detail and so more (Avery, Westwood and Richardson, 2022, p. 406-416).
Threats
- Lack of experience in the field: One of the threat in front of me is my lack of experience in the field of nursing. It leads to obstacles for me to get a job rapidly.
- Inability of leadership and critical-thinking skills: This also acts as a threat for me while working as a nurse. It acts as a hurdle for me to perform and lead a team as well as think innovatively.
TASK 3
Reflection
Referring to the Gibbs Reflective model, from the presentation assessment, I was able to learn and be aware of my diverse skills myself. From the assessment, I got knowledge about the importance of the nursing role in the health and social care field as well as the required skills, qualifications and experience. During the project, I aware with the fact that having qualification is not enough for the role of the nursing, it required having knowledge of different healthcare principles, skills, training to deal with different kinds of patient (Sundgren et al, 2021, p. 49-67). During the assessment, I evaluated and felt that I have a good communication skill that enables me to communicate and convey my thoughts, opinions and perspectives in a clear, concise and understand manner. I learned that I am quite good and proficient in communicate verbally and written form.
During the project while describing my assessment to other, I felt that I am well-versed as a result I was able to convey my thoughts efficiently. In addition, while preparing the assessment I analyzed that I have good time-management skill. It is an ability to use time in wise manner (Trentepohl et al, 2022, p. 5097). At the time of preparation of project, I thought that I am not able to complete it on time as due to some reason I start it late. However, I think to make a schedule and divide task according to limited time, it aids me to learn about my efficient time-management skill. In addition, after completion of the assignment, the tutor gives me feedback that I have competency to use different theoretical models effectively. The feedback makes me quite happy, confident as well as satisfied with my work.
On the other hand, I get feedback from my tutor that I have to focus on thinking in more creative manner. Tutor guide me that I have to focus on improve this area as it is quite important while working in nursing role as the professional required to think critically to cope up with challenging situation. Furthermore, I also analyzed that enhancing leadership ability is one of my area of improvement (Gibbs' Reflective Cycle, 2025). This makes me unable to lead people and patient effectively in future.
Referring to Gibbs Reflective model, to improve my weak areas, I focus on making an action plan or personal development plan. The personal development plan refers to an a plan including systematic action to improve the skills within a pre-defined time frame (Ribtsun et al, 2023, p. 388-403). TASK 4
Skill learned from module
The module plays a crucial and significant role in enhancing the skill in proficient manner. The module helped me to sharpen my communication skill more, it enables me to use verbal and written methods of communication appropriately. I used words as well as gesture, facial expression correctly and according to the understanding level of the receiver. The skills allow me to work with efficiency within health and social care while performing nursing role. It enables me to actively listen to patient’s problems, concern as well as communicate with them regarding medication, leads to help in build trust and rapport and better patient outcome. Effective communication ability helpful in communicating about the vital signs of the patient to the healthcare professional in clear and appropriate manner, helps in furnish timely treatment (Mohd Salim et al, 2023, p. 162). Also, communication aids in partnering with other co-worker, colleagues and healthcare professionals. Besides this, from the module, I learn skill of attention to detail. It is an ability of focus on each detail. The improvement of the skill via the help of module assists me to perform my nursing duty with accuracy and in error free manner. Within the nursing profession, it is quite important to provide sufficient attention to changing factors and vital signs in the patient such as respiratory level, temperature, blood pressure, mood swings, behavior and so more. Effective attention to detail skill allows me to care patient in responsible way result in avoiding any kind of medical mistake. The skill allows in perform nursing work effectively including care planning, monitoring vital signs and so more.
Moreover, during module I able to learns time-management skill as well. This competency is main requirement for working within the health and social care setting. Healthcare providers are quite busy and have a limited time for diverse activities, to complete all task in scare time, the skill plays a crucial role. In the nursing role, time-management is prime requirement to ensure timely medication to the patient according to the care plan. The skill aids in work with punctuality leads to enhance productivity and performance. In addition, the module leads to sharpen my decision-making ability as well. It is an ability to make decision in rapid as well as timely manner (Feng et al, 2022, p. 1038604). Good decision-making skill is quite important in the healthcare setting and specially to perform the nursing role. The module leads to enhance my ability to make decision even in a pressured situation. It allows me as nursing professional to make clinical decisions by directly as well as indirectly recognize the problem that affects the patient. According to the problem, using my decision-making ability I am able to select appropriate alternative for the situation on the timely basis. The required ability ensures timely care to the patient, leads to improve patient as well as family`s satisfaction. Apart from this, from the module, I get sufficient knowledge in regards to working in health and social care, I can use it while performing my nursing role and get best outcome for the patient.
